Painting of the Spanish artist Diego Velasquez “Three Men at the Table”. The size of the painting is 109 x 102 cm, canvas, oil. The painting also has another name, “Breakfast”. A similar picture of the painter “The Trapeza of Peasants” is kept in the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest.
Already in the early canvases of the Seville period, created in the genre of bodegones, depicting modest breakfasts, tavern tables with a small number of trapeziers and discreet still life in the foreground, the artist’s independence was manifested.
In the paintings of Velasquez of this period, representing everyday genre scenes with sharp cut-off contrasts, dense and heavy painting, marked by the influence of Caravaggio, full of natural dignity, memorable characteristic folk types are depicted.
