This series of 82 engravings is among the most significant works of Goya. Art critics share the series in three parts:
The first 47 prints demonstrate the horrors of the war. The second 18 works depict the consequences of hunger. The last 17 reflect the disappointment associated with the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy.
This series is a phenomenal visualization of the author’s position, which contains resentment and bold political statements.
