A special reality, consisting of objects of various shapes and textures, producing impressions of a welter against the backdrop of desert landscapes creating a new metaphysical world, vibrating on the verge of surrealism and surrealism – all this about Giorgio de Chirico’s painting as a whole, and his painting “The Prodigal Son” in particular.
The whole biblical parable of great artists, each in its time – Bosch, Durer, Rembrandt, Tissot, Polenov, etc., was embodied in the famous biblical parable. All these works are realistic, pinching, where repentance and talent are the main leitmotifs. The painting de Chirico refers to the decadent period of creativity and at first glance everything is not so. However, after looking through the original delivery of material, you can catch a familiar story, which is read in the drooping head of the son and the outstretched arms of his father.
Destroying the logic of reality, Chirico leaves us only hints. But surprisingly, these hints are enough, and the original implementation of the plot is very emotional for the viewer. This was the phenomenon of the artist’s work, which once stirred up all the basics of fine art.
