The Orchestra by Raoul Dufy

The Orchestra by Raoul Dufy

This work is similar to a quick sketch made right during the concert. The quick, impetuous strokes outline the instruments and figures of the musicians. A careless brush strokes painted the background.

People’s faces are conditional, like faces of little men, whom children draw. But Dufy did not aspire to photographic accuracy. Most likely, she would even interfere with him. It is impulsive, rapid strokes that inform the picture that the special mood with which it is permeated allows you to convey the “elements of music” in “colors”.

It seems that the viewer can even “hear” what kind of work the musicians perform. Most likely, it is something stormy, anxious, passionate.
