I love paintings, which depict a still life or landscape. They are so bright, colorful, rich. Each traced detail in them, the play of light and shadow help to maximize the conceived image. When I saw the picture “Strawberry and White Jug”, I was just amazed how you can accurately convey the entire color palette, the whole summer flavor.
For his work, the artist chose a neutral background so that nothing distracts us from the drawn berries. In this picture, Mashkov painted not only strawberries, but also black, white currants and raspberries. It is shown both as a shrub, which stands in a jar of water, and separately in a deep plate with a rim. The picture shows the wealth the summer months bring us. Strawberries are depicted both with and without sprigs, lying separately on the table, and in silver dishes. Strawberry berries are huge and, for sure, very tasty.
On the right side of the picture there is a white pot-bellied jug. It is depicted empty. I think that the author painted it for contrast, so that bright, beautiful berries looked even more appetizing. From the picture literally blows aromas of these fruits. So I want to take and try one of these berries, plunge into the summer freshness. Moreover, it was recently and we did not even have time to forget it.
The artist with great love draws every detail, every bend on a strawberry. On the left are the two largest, ripe berries. On their background, the nearby raspberry is a bit lost. I want to note that there is not a single berry that would be drawn carelessly. In my opinion, the picture turned out to be homely simple, but at the same time, brilliant. Just looking at such works, we begin to think about the simple joys of life, which we manage to forget in our everyday hectic. The artist has provided another opportunity to admire the summer gifts of nature, which are filled with solar heat.
