Antiope is the queen of the Amazons. She is the daughter of the Theban king Nicotea, gave birth to Jupiter twins – Zeta and Amphion.
King Nyktei was angered by the deed of Antioch, and she fled from her father’s wrath to Sicyon, where she married the king of the Epic. In the painting, the artist painted the scene of a love meeting between Antipa and Jupiter.
She is tired of love, but Jupiter wakes her up.
