In the early 1470’s. Bellini completely passes to the Dutch technique of pure oil, which, starting with Vasari, is associated with the stay in Venice in 1475/76 by Antonello de Messina, who introduced the painter to the technique of writing “clean” paint, allowing to reach on the plane a greater illusion of the volume and depth of space, rich color effects and richness of tone.
