Salomon van Ruysdal was born in North Holland, in Nardin, he worked in Haarlem. His favorite genre is landscape. In the artist’s works are represented by deep rivers and villages along the banks, sea bays, coasts with a high cloudy sky.
Salomon van Reisdal walked to the generalized landscape, to create the image of the flat nature of Holland. His work goes back to the origins of the classic Dutch landscape of the XVII century. The painting “Ferry”, solved in soft silver-gray tones, with a frowning sky and a calm water surface, people and birds scurrying around the ferry, soaring above the water and reminding of an early storm, is a typical work of the artist.
