Erichthony is one of the first Attic kings, born of the land of Gaea from the seed of Hephaestus. He had a half-human, semi-human body. His infant was hidden in the casket of Athena and deposited with the daughters of Cecrop – Aglaurus, Gere and Pandros. Cecrop is autochthon itself and half-demeanor.
However, the curious Aglavr and his sisters looked into the casket and were horrified at the monster there. Athena was angry and sent madness upon them.
