In Over Van Gogh was able to satisfy his longing for the north. He was in deep need of a return to the environment in which he lived in his youth, having passed the full circle to the origins of his art in Holland.
That’s why he undertook to write new versions of earlier works. “Cows” returned memories of work in The Hague.
