Painting by the French painter Nicolas Lancre “Concert in the lap of nature”. The size of the painting is 62 x 52 cm, oil on canvas. The painting was acquired in the Hermitage collection from the Paris collection of paintings by Baron Crozat de Thiers in 1772. Lancre was awarded the title of Counselor of the Academy of Fine Arts on March 24, 1735.
Since that time, the life of the artist has been entirely devoted to painting the Rococo style. In his youth, Lancre sought to become an artist of the historical, mythological and battle genre, but he became a master of painting gallant festivals and scenes of everyday life.
