On the right wing, Tommaso’s wife, Maria, with Marguerite’s daughter was imprinted. It is interesting that Maria Baronchelli has the same hat, necklace and ring, as in the marriage portrait of Memling’s hand. She is patronized by Saint Mary Magdalene, who is looking at her from behind Margarita. For contrast, St. Margaret looks at the daughter of the donor from behind Maria’s back.
St. Margaret stands on a dragon, according to legend torn it; the left shoe of the saint is still in the mouth of the monster. The reason for the diagonal location of the Saints Mary Magdalene and Margarita can be the fact that the main patroness of Tommaso’s wife was directly the Virgin Mary, imprinted on the central section. A bright landscape with flying trees says about the fall, though, most likely, was conceived as a winter landscape.
