
Van Gogh was hospitalized after he injured himself with a knife. Several weeks in prison led him to choose a plot for two paintings: “The Courtyard of the Hospital in Arles” and “The Chamber of the Hospital of Illness”.
These pictures express the difficult test and sorrows of isolation.
