
The portrait comes from the palace of Ca Marcello in Venice. Bought in the Dresden meeting in 1743. A box with paints, a palm branch, and the age of the image shown in the inscription suggest that Titian’s model was the artist Antonio Palma.
Antonio Palma, nephew of Jacopo Palma Veyukio and father of Jacopo Palma Giovane, belonged to a famous artistic dynasty, who worked in Venice throughout the XVI century
