In the second half of the 1900s. A. Marche’s creative search leads him to the adoption of the artistic method of the Fauves. But already in 1907, he abandons the conditional expression of this direction and develops his own system, a characteristic feature of which is the use of more restrained and subtle color combinations.
He paints urban landscapes, marked at the same time by the detached and contemplative author’s attitude and deeply felt attitude to nature. From some elevation, the artist seems to be watching the unhurried flow of the Seine, his gaze notes the arched lines of the bridges and the direct perspectives of the streets.
