As a model, Kiprensky chose a young teenage girl. She calmly holds a basket of fruits in her hands. Behind her, the viewer recognizes the blue expanse of the Bay of Naples with the broken silhouette of Capri Island on the right and the ledge of the Sorrentine cape on the left.
All the details of clothing and decorations, carefully prescribed, give color richness to the picture and together with the background emphasize that it is the young Italian, written in the environment of native nature, at the time of collecting the gifts of the Italian land.
