Giovanni Bellini, like Andrea Mantegna, is considered the most significant artist of northern Italy of the XV century. The master, formed in the Late Gothic environment, discovered an unusual gift of continuous improvement of this pictorial language, which led him to a more modern harmony of form and color, and ultimately to tonal painting and classic grandiosity typical of the High Renaissance.
Bellini, known for his altar paintings, writes and divine images like this, where he manages to interpret a traditional story with a special original creative inspiration.
