English artist and illustrator Denny Flynn was born in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. As an artist, Flynn works not only in science fiction and the popular fantasy genre. Denny finished St. Augustine’s school in Webster, where he received a versatile education. Then he studied at the University of Kingston, where he received a diploma as an illustrator.
Since the mid-1980s, Denny Flynn has illustrated hundreds of novels, including recognized masters of science fiction. Among them were famous authors like Frederick Paul, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein and Arthur Clark, who, incidentally, spoke about Flynn’s work: – “Denny has the ability to transfer real objects to imaginary landscapes, provoking a sincere surprise, which, in fact, is the basis of all good science fiction and fantasy. ” In parallel, Denny Flynn collaborated with companies that created the games “Electronic Art” and “Traveler Stories”. Four years the artist spent on the creation of his own individual project for children called “Lunatics” – about funny creatures that live on the moon.
In the painting “Loneliness” Denny Flynn portrayed a touching fairy creature in the middle of a dense forest. Poor thing is so scary and lonely among the fly agarics and beetles without loyal cheerful friends. Soon the night will come, the pink sunset will hide behind the horizon and darkness will come again.
