Painting of the Dutch artist Hendrik Averkamp “Ice City”. The size of the painting is 36 x 71 cm, wood, oil. Painter Avercamp, apparently, maintained a relationship with David Winkbous, one of the followers of Brueghel, who settled in Amsterdam. His nephew Barent Avercamp imitated the painting of Hendrik Averkamp.
Other artists studied in his paintings, for example, Arents. Carefully characterized groups of small figures are connected in the paintings of Avercamp through the subtly nuanced color of the celestial winter haze. The artist’s paintings were created in the studio on the basis of sketches, drawings and watercolors.
