This is not Dali’s first work devoted to illusions. In a letter to the French surrealist poet Paul Eluard Dali called rainbow with clouds ghosts and brick building – an illusion. Clouds take the forms that the viewer ascribes to them, according to Dali’s own method.
Here is a figure resembling a woman in the “Medium-paranoid image.” The heroine of the work combines the features of a nanny and a friend of the author, as well as an image that caused the concern of the artist in the future: Hitler.
