Around 1820, Goya creates his last series of engravings – a series of parables, dreams called “Disparate.” 21 sheets of complex, most difficult to understand, the most individual and strange engravings. In them, the artist sneers at his own blindness, the “pink glasses” of youth, the grief over lost illusions. Goya becomes even excessive when he portrays ugliness, grimaces of terrible monsters.
