Etude for the fourth group on the Anichkov Bridge in St. Petersburg. Sculptural groups “Tamers of horses” were performed by the first Russian animal painter with great taste and great observation.
Installed on the Anichkov Bridge in 1841. Their success was staggering: Claudt’s work quickly gained European fame. The four groups are a detailed dramatic series, in which one story progressively develops – the conquest of the horse by man.
