One of the best paintings of the mythological theme of the early period of the painter Pompeo Batoni is also known as “Apollo, which gives music lessons”. Apollo, in Greek mythology and religion, is the son of Zeus, god-healer and soothsayer, patron of the arts.
He was portrayed as a beautiful young man with kifara or a bow and arrow. Among the ancient images of Apollo are the most famous ancient Greek statues: “Apollo, killing a lizard” and “Apollo Belvedere”.
