The Sculpture “Falling Woman” was exhibited in the Rockefeller Center hall and was a nude figure of a woman turned upside down, and as if fixed at the moment of falling the moment she had reached the ground. Eric Fishl devoted his work to the Americans who died on September 11 when they tried to escape from the burning twin towers.
However, a week later the sculpture from the hall was removed, motivating this action with complaints from the visitors of the Rockefeller Center that the sculpture “The Falling Woman” had too strong a psychological effect on them. Later it was decided to close the exposition. Many agreed with this decision, since from an aesthetic point of view the sculpture is more ridiculous than tragic. In this case, the composition of the monument should, after all, be more conservative and more solemn.
