In the plastic solution of this work, there is a strong influence of the traditions of classicism. The work could not but affect the fascination with antique plastics and the influence of generally recognized authors, which were B. Torvaldsen and A. Canova. Translation of the statue into marble was begun by S. I. Galberg.

The skill of the sculptor Orlovsky was sung in the poem by A. S. Pushkin: “You give thoughts to gypsum, marble is obedient to you.” Faun – the god of mountains, forests and fields, guard of herds. Fast. in 1897 from the Hermitage.
