Himalayan pony by Vasily Vereshchagin

Vereshchagin was a military class, which many introduced into astonishment. A real combat officer who has gone through several wars, but at the same time, manages to write such masterpieces. Most of his work is connected with the Himalayas. And one of them is the “Himalayan pony”. If you start examining the canvas from the background, you can understand that the dwarf horse is standing on a clearing in the middle of the mountains.

The grass has a slightly yellowish shade, so you can imagine the time of the year when the picture was drawn – autumn. Pony is not intended for long travels. Their use, most often, is characteristic of circus, or children from rich families. An animal intended for short pokatush and fun, stands alone, head drooping despondently, in the middle of the Himalayan mountains.

One leg is slightly torn from the ground, although the rest of the body shows that the animal is not going to move. What does it do here? Hopefully, the pony has fled, and now be at large, far from the noise and naughty kids. Or maybe this is the place where the mobile circus has flung open, and the animal is just on a walk. It has a saddle on which is a multicolored cape.

As if the artist did not give brightness to her, the picture still turned out to be dark. After looking at the gloomy face of the pony, you no longer pay attention to the bright elements of the picture.
