In art, often used to receive contrast or a combination of different colors on the emotional impact. So white is always perceived as clarity, purity and innocence, and black, on the contrary, implies secrecy, night, mystery, beckoning its unsolved.

American artist-hyperrealist Will Cotton in his painting “Black and White” also took advantage of this technique, but in his manner. Against the backdrop of a ghostly white city of whipped cream, the figure of a sitting black girl is plastic and tangible. It is so harmoniously blended with the sweetness that surrounds it, that itself seems to be made of chocolate. A gentle white cream gives warmth and softness to the swarthy skin of a graceful beauty.
