Bathsheba (Bathsheba), swimming by Francesco Hayes

Batcheba is the wife of King David and the mother of King Solomon. In the tradition it is told that at first she was the wife of the Hittite Uriah, the warrior of David. David, seeing her bathing, blazed to her with passion and took him to her.

When Bathsheba became pregnant, David called Uriah to Jerusalem and tried to create the impression that she was expecting a child from her husband. When it was not possible, he ordered to put Uriah in the most dangerous place in the battles. Uriah died, and Batcheba became the wife of David.
